Horseback Riding in Northwest Montana
Plenty of opportunities abound for the horse lovers wanting to experience the West and beauty of Northwest Montana while riding horseback. Opportunity also await Equestrians that want to rent horses for the day or even an hour.
Artemis Acres Paint Horse Guest Ranch is five miles South of Kalispell and offers everything from one hour trail rides to a full day of horseback riding with a traditional western barbecue cooked over an open-wood fire and served in a secluded meadow.

Swan Mountain Outfitters is nestled in the Flathead National Forest, 17 miles south of Swan Lake, and provides mountain horseback riding. Swan Mountain provides 50 miles of trails with beautiful, expansive views. Pack trips are also available from the last week of June through September. Glacier National Park also offers trail riding through Swan Mountain Outfitters.

High Country Trails is located five miles Southwest of Kalispell and is an exclusive 800-acre family ranch. Old fashioned steak cookouts and saddle lunches are a perk with these trail rides. Horses are also for sale at this ranch and lessons can be provided.

Lonesome Dove Guest Ranch, Southwest of Kalispell, is a family guest ranch with a Native American tepee village. Lonesome Dove offers trail riding, pack trips and weddings. Rawhide Trail Rides is located east of West Glacier and offers riders over age four everything from hour-long rides to overnight scenic trips through Glacier National Park. Rawhide Trail Rides also offers horseback riding trips followed by two days of rafting the Middle Fork.

Cheff Guest Ranch is located in Charlo and offers pack trips through the Bob Marshall Wilderness along the Holland Lake Trail. These trips give visitors the opportunity to visit high alpine camps, mountain lakes or the South Fork of the Flathead River. The trips are 7 to 8 days long and 3 to 4 day long trips are offered in the Mission Mountain Wilderness. In the Fall, the Cheff Guest Ranch will do packs 28 miles to hunt big game along the South Fork.

The Bob Marshall Wilderness Ranch is located 21 miles north of Seeley Lake on Montana 83. This ranch offers 5 to 10 day horseback trips that are tailored to fit individual needs. The Bob Marshall Wilderness ranch has over 20 years of Bob Marshall experience and can guide guests to spectacular views as well as good fishing holes. Typical adventures include fishing for cutthroat and bull trout in the South Fork, horse back rides to the Chinese Wall, part of the Continental Divide, and wilderness rifle hunts starting on September 15th.
